Cool places to be….

Last night we bid farewell to another set of friends. Off to Australia, the beginning of an adventure for them, and a sad feeling of loss for those that were left behind.
To make matters worse, this morning I sighed when I was cut off by a taxi, ground my teeth at news of more hijackings and murders on the radio, and shook my head in disbelief at the front page headlines that accused our pretty pathetic leaders of yet more scandalous behaviour. It was going to be a crap Sunday.
But a petrol attendant’s smile, whistle and enthusiasm jogged me out of my bad mood. I laughed at the sight of a enterprising fellow pushing a trolley full of multicoloured vuvuzelas a few minutes later, and then the ever friendly guys behind the counter at Cafe Vida E made sure that by the time my cappuccino touched my lips, I was ready to appreciate the colourful South African people around me, and the warm winter sun that shone down all day long.
Nevertheless we chatted about visiting places far away. To gain perspective, we cast our imagination wider, and dreamed of far off places that seem to get closer by the day. I came home, oohed, aahed laughed and had a watery eye moment when I clicked on the link below…
