No more sleeps…

Friday, December 26th, 2008

Adults don’t get excited about Christmas like kids get excited about Christmas. Kids start compiling elaborate gift wishlists from a month before and can recite them in one breath, with no pauses and all from memory. Every sleep is marked off and announced as the big day gets nearer. Adults forget to shop for presents until two days before, and then head to the Sandton City Battle Zone.

Christmas was on the farm for me this year. Thomas and Annabel Barnes, who are becoming regularly featuring characters on this blog, took my hand and and re-introduced me to what it is like to be a child at Christmas. Molly Barnes (4 weeks old today) features for the first time, and parents Nick and Kate multi-tasked their way through the days like Windows Explorer wished it could.

The night before Christmas, Aunty Emily read “A Christmas Carol” to Tom and Bella…. and the photos should tell the rest of the story….
