It Keeps Getting Better

The whole world has come to Ballito…and I have changed. I now refer to GP number plate wearing vehicles as “Vaalies” and I find myself judging sunburnt holidaymakers wearing luminous clothing. Traffic has reached epic proportions, and it took a whopping 20 min to get to work yesterday! Crazy times. The heat has arrived on the coast, and while the Nikon holds up the professional look on the front end, I admit to having done a shoot in my flip flops recently.

But from the relative quiet of the PeppermintPix airconditioned studio I have managed to put the finishing touches onto my new blog, and use the first bit of down time in months to assess the year as well as consider how to tackle 2013.

2012 was great for Chris Allan Photo. Once again we managed to deliver high end photography to a wide range of clients, that had us shooting in Johannesburg, Durban, Cape Town, Knysna, Zimbabwe and Equatorial Guinea.

Many of our clients have been with us for over 3 years now, and we have attracted the attention of some other potential big clients for next year… but more on that when it is a sure thing :)

Here is a selection of images from a few of the shoots:

The New Fego and Europa menus are in my opinion the best that have ever been put together, and I think the images turned out really well.

Red Rabbit is a restaurant in the very slick new shopping centre Nicolway in Joburg. I covered the beautiful design of the establishment done by  Shelley at Pallette.

Equatorial Guinea. A beautiful country and my first introduction to equatorial Africa. Humidity, tropical rainstorms and a fairly dicey political scenario made shooting a challenge, but with the help of a fascinating expat community we got some crackers.

And one of the coolest things we got to do this year was a shoot of our own design, with talent all sourced on the North Coast.

Both commercial and residential property owners, are realising how important it is to have a professional presence online when they are looking to sell, and that starts with the images you use on your website or property listing. We have been shooting property for high end real estate, hotels and magazines this year, and the demand, thankfully, continues to grow:
2013 is going to see a few changes, but we want to focus on delivering an even more professional service to our clients, so let us know if you have any comments or suggestions? We are currently building a new studio and if all goes according to plan will be operating out of  it in about 4 months time.
PeppermintPix  just keeps growing from strength to strength under Emily’s care and direction, the newsletter and some faavouite images from the year can be seen here.
Thanks for your support in 2012, and I hope to see many of you again in 2013!
Have a great one
Chris
