Why is it..
That even when one has had a comparatively chilled week, with time to organise the workstation, plan a holiday and even make some headway into the ever growing pile in the inbox tray, one still gets to the middle of the afternoon on a Friday, that glorious last working week day, with a dry mouth and a fiery thirst? A thirst can only be quenched by the exquisitely soothing, the wondrously medicinal, the fantastical elixir of life… the Friday afternoon Sundowner?
Be it a beer, or a G and T, a Pinocolada or Martini, whatever it may be..
go get one.
And have a great weekend everyone.
Ja ok.. I get it now.
So the Pros can make anything look good including the baby waves on the first day (almost) of the Mr Price Pro. But give them some proper waves, and thats when the magic happens. Some more images from the first waves of today…
A 1.4 metre swell was never going to get a professional surfer overexcited.
The Mr Price Pro kicked off today, or at least was supposed to, but it was decided to give the sea a chance to deliver something more. Day 1 will now start on Day 2.
Despite the swimming pool conditions, competitors from around the world still got out onto the water and carved up whatever the sea offered up, and frankly there was plenty of action for a surf-clueless photographer to shoot.
Without the 30 kg lenses that make up a professional surf photographers arsenal, I was limited to whatever the 200 mm could deliver at it’s limits, and a more creative approach which incorporated the environment was what I ended up with.
